Welcome!

My mission as a psychiatrist is to help you achieve personal growth and emotional well-being by utilizing an open, nonjudgemental, and curious approach. I operate from the position that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by our past experiences, especially those from childhood. I will work with you to uncover what is beneath the surface in an effort to gain better insight into yourself. I work with people on a broad spectrum of issues including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, past trauma, body image, and self-esteem.

I specialize in long-term insight-oriented psychotherapy. I utilize medications judiciously, knowing they can be a useful, but incomplete tool in the journey to self-discovery and wellness. I have particular experience with attachment issues, addiction, women’s health, LGBTQIA+ health, body positivity, relationship violence, childhood trauma, and PTSD.

I strive to create a welcoming and safe environment for all individuals, irrespective of their background, identity, or lived experiences.

All patients are provided with receipts, which can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement if desired.

I offer both medication management and psychotherapy (“talk therapy”) appointments. All patients are required to have an initial comprehensive evaluation, which typically lasts 60-90 minutes. Psychotherapy visits are 50 minutes. Follow-up appointments are typically 25 minutes. Psychotherapy plus medication follow-up appointments are 50 minutes.

How do I request an appointment?

Please see the contact section to schedule a free 15 minute consultation and determine if my practice is a good fit for you. As a small private practice if I am unable to meet your needs best efforts will be made to connect you to alternate resources.

What type of therapy do you practice?

My practice utilizes insight oriented principles with the goal of helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your goals, and your needs. I have specialized training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and utilize supportive, relational, and attachment based techniques. How do you keep my information confidential?

I employ an electronic medical record that complies with HIPAA standards, ensuring the utmost security and confidentiality of your information. To maintain the highest levels of privacy and protection, please be aware that all communications, including personally identifiable information, should be conducted through the patient portal or via voicemail/fax. Although I do use a HIPAA compliant email, it is important to note that email inherently offers less security.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

We will discuss your background, past medical and mental health history, as well as your current symptoms and concerns. We will then review diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and next steps including mutually deciding if my practice is a good fit for you.
